Chennai to Bangalore Road Trip was “My First Travel Alone!!!!”.
I must say, prior to this trip I had zero experience on a long road trip. Let me tell you about my experience while travelling on a road trip from Chennai to Bangalore.
Chennai to Bangalore Road Trip:
How did I Start:
Bike: Royal Enfield “Thunderbird 350”.
Route: NH4 Highway via “Hosur”.
The time I started: 4 am in the morning.
Average Speed: 90-110kms (as far as I Remember)
Chennai to Bangalore road trip is something very special to me and easily it’s one of my favourite travel this year. There is a saying that “Experience the Unexperienced” and I believe that very strongly after this trip. I literally came out my comfort zone, by Travelling alone, by taking a road trip, first Long drive, and also I never knew Bangalore before.
The Route I Took:
There are two different routes to travel from Chennai to Bangalore using roadways. One is Via Thirutanni, Chittoor, Dasarahalli. The other one is via “Sriperumbudhur”, “Arcot”, “Vellore”, “Ambur”, “Krishnagiri”, “Hosur”. I took the Hosur, Krishnagiri route, it is a bit long but it’s safe… Throughout the Route, there are plenty of sceneries that would make you go “Awwww”. This is through NH4 highway. NH4 is the highway we use generally to travel from Chennai to Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune. The roads were Perfect and if You are planning to go for a long ride with your bike this could be the perfect Route for a perfect drive. The mountains and the surrounding would give a pleasant feel.
Things to be taken care of During long Road Trips:
It took me around 7 hrs to reach Bangalore. While starting the first phase from Chennai to Bangalore I felt zero inconveniences. I just took a break every 100 kilometres and taking it in mind I think I’ve taken 3 breaks towards Bangalore. But while returning to Chennai I’ve taken a break for every 25-50 km. It’s actually tough if you are returning to Chennai the next day or a two. Because travelling in the bike would make you tired as hell and also it would make your spine go weak if you are not prepared for a trip. Prepare yourself by doing some Yoga a week before your ride so that it would make you feel comfortable. Plan your trip for at least a minimum 2-3 days so that you would not feel tired while returning to Chennai.
I learned the procedure to take a proper trip while I was travelling all alone. You should check your bike that everything is in perfect condition so that you are not stopping in an unknown place. Do always carry a water bottle, driving a bike for such a long time would give you some dehydration. The main thing that should be considered while taking long travel is safety. I had my Safety jacket, Gloves for the grip and of course a proper helmet.
I Even got my Bike serviced a week before the Ride so that it didn’t make any problem’s. I had a backpack where I did the mistake of carrying a little heavyweight and also I did the mistake of carrying it without a rope. Make sure to tie your backpack along with the pillion rider seat. I had severe back pain after the ride because of carrying the bag on my shoulder during the whole ride. Never do that mistake. Always have your license and your vehicle books while travelling to a different place. In case of emergency, you could find an emergency Phonebooth frequently throughout the highway where you can call them for help.
How was the Road Trip? :
The Road Trip is something so special. You could see quite a lot of Coffee shops on both the sides of Chennai to Bangalore highway. I actually did stop for some coffee during the Ride. Stopping by those highways, Having a coffee looking at the way the highway was built was an actual bliss. The Highway almost had some scenic beauty as it passes through mountains and fields. Until you reach Hosur it’s actually the best roads for a bike ride and after Hosur, you may experience some traffic. I started my trip like 4 am in the morning and reached there by 11 am before it gets tough to drive in the sun. If it is so sunny then you could lose the interest in riding a bike, so it’s better to start your ride before the sun gets higher.
Bangalore!!!! is a city full of traffic but still one of the best places where you can get anything you need easier. Even a small vendor does have the UPI payment option. You could see a lot of IT people’s Walking around anytime. The Surroundings are a little bit good but I felt haunted sometimes. The people around are friendly enough to help you out. Even at the early morning’s, you can expect traffic in the city. The return happened to be a bit tougher for me as it started to pain in the shoulder carrying the bag. I should mention this, Riding My “Royal Enfield Thunderbird” gave me the best experience of driving a bike. Not even a Single inconvenience I faced with the bike. The highway cruiser gave me the best ride throughout my trip. Driving it gave me the confidence to move around in a different place.
Reason for My Trip:
Chennai to Bangalore Road Trip was really a thrilling one. It all started with a Phone call from my dear Sister. I actually started this trip to see my sister. She used to work in Bangalore. This was like in February 2019. She is already far from home. One fine day while talking to her on a phone call, she told me that it’s been a year since we met and you are such an idiot not even trying to see your sister and that’s where it all started. I suddenly took the decision of travelling to Bangalore all alone with my Royal Enfield “Thunderbird” the very next week.
Even now I don’t really know which gave me the confidence to travel alone. Thanks to my sister, It gave me and my surrounding the confidence that I can manage anywhere in and outside the city. The purpose of the trip was achieved at last when my sister saw me at her office in a surprise and ran towards me. Am a person who believes “Making someone smile is always important than anything”. When it comes to your sister’s smile it’s definitely worth travelling miles.
If you notice, Every travel teaches you something different and yes this one taught me how to travel all alone to an unknown place with confidence. “I have Experienced the Unexperienced”.
