Yercaud-My First Travel blog:
Yercaud !!! yes that was my first trip… To the unknown, It is located in Salem district, of course, it’s inside TN, those places are to be explored Still by Many..It was a Perfect Drive From Chennai to Yercaud. It’s almost a distance of 365 kilometres. As we planned to reach Yercaud by Morning we Started our Drive at the night, it was a perfect weekend plan. By Morning 6.30 am we reached Salem and by 7 am we started through the roads of Yercaud. The Roads to the hilltop were well maintained and the roads were quite good. We Crossed through 20 Hairpin Bends to reach the Hill-top, those Hair-pin bends were quite thrilling and the view it provided us was breath-taking.
After reaching the Hill-top, the first place that we came across was the Lake that is so famous in this place and also it’s a major tourist attracted spot available there. The lake is located in the centre lane so it is easy to reach there anytime to admire its beauty. The lake is so clean and well maintained a must-visit spot there!!. so then, after reaching the Hill-Top we checked in to our hotel, there are plenty of hotels and Resorts available there so pick one before You visit the place. Luckily our’s Hotel was located near the lake so it was easy to access the whole place from there. If you are planning to go with your Friend’s then Try some camp-fire type things there!!!.
So after the checking-in process, our first visit was to the famous falls present over there, “Kiliyur falls” was 2.5 kilometre’s from the lake and from there to reach the falls you have to go down about 200+ steps built on both Steel staircases and concrete’s. The way to falls would give you a good Trekking Experience, after the falls there were plenty of Viewpoints that provides you with some Breath-taking Views that should be visited for sure. There is a sun-rise viewpoint Present over there which gave some pleasant mind-relaxing feel!!!
Something I was Enjoying about throughout the Trip is Yercaud’s Climate. I had literally Fell in love with Yercaud and its climate. Those Morning cups of coffee’s, Beautiful Scenery’s around, the Vegetation I saw there was the awesome ones. The people around the location were very kind and for sure we would go back imagining “How would be life if we were born and bought up at this place ?”.
If you are around TN (or) If you are a person who does need a break from the Stress and Problems, Go pack your bags and plan a Trip to this Well said “Jewel of South India”. It would be a perfect place to chill-out and don’t forget to get some Home-made Chocolates!!!!!
