From a Developer to an Entrepreneur – Life Update 01

I have always dreamt of building my own company since my final year of college. It’s been 5+ years since I finished college and after facing a lot of failures, setbacks, learning and evolving as an adult in my own way, I have finally started my own startup. Here is my story “From a Developer to an Entrepreneur” and I would like to quote it as my “Life Update 01”.

In my About page, I have always mentioned “My dream is to become an Entrepreneur and to start my Dream Company, I Am just working on it so hard, maybe one day I will establish my Product Development Company”. Today, while am writing this blog I feel so proud to be a person who took his first step towards his dream. It feels surreal to live my dream. Yes, I have started my own product development company named “Specflicks” and through my brand am gonna to build a lot of products that would introduce you to a new software ecosystem.

People and their Support

The emotional support you get from Family, colleagues and your Team will give you a different level of strength in achieving your dream. That one nod from your Closed ones, “Yes you can do it, go ahead” made me believe in myself that I would succeed in my entrepreneurial journey. People believing in me and working along with me on my Ups and downs, motivating me on the road to achieving my dreams gives me an insane energy that pushes me to work hard.

Not just me, My Family, Close ones and My Team have taken a lot of risks in helping me to build my startup. I believe ” A successful startup will have the best Team”, likewise I have the best minds around me and working with those best minds helped me in evolving myself as a learning Entrepreneur. I have learnt a lot and still learning from my team on how the progress is made. These people have put an immense amount of their valuable time towards my dream and product. There were setbacks, deadlines and much more but my team has got it covered.

It’s only when people value your presence in their life, they can support you to all extents. In that case, I would say my family and my team have been tremendous support in evolving my ideas. It is because of the people around me and their support, that I could start a journey From a Developer to an Entrepreneur. When you have people who believe in you by your side, you will do wonders. That’s what happened to me!!!

Self-motivation and Time Management

Starting a startup is easy, but working hard to make it successful is tough. I have not succeeded yet, but I have been working hard day and night to make it a successful venture. I will make the change someday as I mentioned of starting a dream company before. It takes a lot of time to make small progress sometimes and I had feelings about how am gonna achieve my dreams. Doubting on myself with various things happening around me. Can we go back? is what I had in my mind a lot of the time.

But the only thing that keeps me running is “You have your dream in your hand and you decide to ruin it or to make it a better one”. I chose to make my dreams a better one. Self-motivation is something I learnt the hard way, the first person who believes in us should be ourselves. I have been through some worst time-management skills and I know for instance that time management is an art. Time management skills are not just for deadlines and work completion, it’s also the balance between Work and Family.

I can’t build a startup in a day, it takes time. Likewise, we should balance the time to take a decent amount of breaks from work. There were times when I didn’t have proper sleep, had a proper meal, did not properly dress up and kept working on pieces of stuff that wouldn’t give me results. But somehow we have to manage everything to achieve our dreams.

Was it worth it?

Yes, as a person who is still trying to be successful with his ideas and trying to build my life on my own, yes it was worth it. Something I learned through this evolving process was Everything takes time. The waiting process is not an easy one, it’s tough. Connecting and working with a lot of new people who we never knew before, was a challenging process for me. But in the end, when you see your product making some progress, it feels damn good. I can proudly say that I have started to work on my dream, and there are my passions that are yet to be achieved. I will do it when I reach a milestone at some point.
