On the Roads Again: “Courtallam & Thenmala”
Courtallam
Early in the morning as the first light of dawn painted the sky hues of Pink and orange, we have almost reached Courtallam, which is known for its breathtaking waterfalls. The road meandered through lush countryside, flanked by swaying trees and fields glistening with morning dew.
Along the way, when we almost reached there, we stopped for breakfast at a hotel.
After the short stop, we resumed our journey towards Courtallam’s famous falls. Courtallam boasts a series of waterfalls, each with its unique charm.
The Main Falls is the most prominent and magnificent among them.
Then there are five falls. As the name suggests, it comprises five separate falls, creating a captivating landscape amid the forested surroundings. Do visit them, when you go there!!!.
Unfortunately, when we went there, the water level was too low and we didn’t have a chance to experience them, but the nature around it was so good to see.
Before reaching Thenmala, we reached Palaruvi, in Kollam which is 24 kilometres from Courtrallam to check the waterfalls but unfortunately, the water levels were low.
The morning’s most remarkable sights were undoubtedly the natural beauty of the place and the enchanting forest. After exploring the area for a while, we set off for our next destination, Thenmala.
Thenmala
A Place where nature embraces you with open arms, a destination that offers an unforgettable experience amidst enchanting landscapes, diverse flora, and fauna. The road from Courtrallam to Thenmala is a scenic delight, winding through lush green mountains and passing by cascading waterfalls.
The Captivating beauty of the western ghats will leave you spellbound as you make your way to Thenmala, which literally means “Honey hill” in the local language.
Upon reaching Thenmala, you will step into a world of eco-tourism where sustainable practices coexist with breathtaking attractions. The Thenmala Eco-tourism zone is a heaven for nature enthusiasts, adventure seekers and those looking for a rejuvenating experience.
There are major things that are available in the Thenmala Ecotourism and I would suggest taking a look at their website for adventures it offers, tariffs & bookings. I would suggest booking those 3-4 days prior to your visit.
Click on the above button to visit their official website which has information about their famous attractions. The attraction includes their Adventure zone (which includes ziplines), Butterfly Safari, Deer rehabilitation centre and more.
Immerse yourself in the natural wonders as you stroll through the lush forests, indulge in wildlife spotting or simply enjoy a leisurely picnic by the enchanting streams.
